Required Documents
When you are applying via your ERES account on our website, the system will provide in detail the required documents for you based on your situation. Generally, we will need the original transcripts or marksheets and degree certificate (if applicable). If your original documents are not in English, a qualified translation or translation service by ERES is also required. You may be contacted for additional documents after we reviewed your initial submission.
Checking authenticity of each document is one of the very important stage of the evaluation process and our statement can’t be made on any photocopies or scan copies.
Please try to contact your school since most of the institutions maintain records better than you imagine. Even your school was merged or changed its name, records will be passed and managed by certain authority. You may also contact the Ministry of Education of the country.
In order for us to finish your evaluation, we need to collect complete study records. If your final institution lists all your course works with detail units and grades, then you may not need to send documents from that institution. Otherwise, please send us individual original document issued by each institution.
Yes, we can evaluate research-based programs.
Of course, we understand how important your original documents are and they are often irreplaceable. Every ERES staff will handle them with care.
Every original document that is submitted by you directly will be returned back along after the evaluation is complete. However, documents that are sent from your institution directly to us will not be returned. Additionally, documents may not be returned if they misrepresent the truth in any way or are determined as fraudulent records.
Depending on the type of evaluation, you may need to submit only the post-secondary / university records. However, please check with the receiving institution (e.g. U.S. school, professional board, employer, government agency) to make sure you are submitting the appropriate documents.
One of the main features of our evaluation report is to determine whether the foreign school you completed courses from is recognized in United States. Generally, if a school is recognized by the Ministry of Education in its country then it could be considered as a recognized institution in the U.S.
ERES reserves the right to contact the school that is relevant to an individual’s coursework. If the school doesn’t respond after three attempts, evaluation report will not be issued.
ERES will be verifying the name change and will provide result on the report. You may comment the current name and the former name to us, and documents relate to such a name change are recommended to submit as well.
If you were awarded a Certificate / Diploma / Degree, then you must submit it. Otherwise, your equivalency may be affected. If the original is in a large size, you may contact the institution for a certified true copy of proof of degree awarded as an alternative document. However, such a document alone is usually not sufficient for an evaluation and it must be supported by your academic transcripts.

Alternatively, you can visit our office and drop off all your documents during our regular operation hours.Unfortunately, you must also submit your bachelor’s degree or any post-secondary studies’ documents. ERES will not be able to determine your equivalence without reviewing your complete post-secondary studies.
Yes, you must submit your complete PhD’s documents including a copy of your thesis. However, we still recommend providing all your prior studies for the evaluation. (The basic fee covers up to 3 programs.)
Unfortunately, ERES can’t request documents on your behalf. Applicants need to contact the institution for their documents.
You are welcome to drop off your documents or pickup your originals (please make you received a notice for pickup, otherwise, your documents may not be released.) during ERES’ regular office hours.
If any of your records refer to you by a name different from your current name, you are required to submit a copy of your marriage license or some other type of documentation that shows your name has been legally changed. If you cannot provide documentation of an official change in your name, we will need to use the name given on your official educational records.
If your evaluation is still valid (within 5 years), then you don’t have to provide what we already collected initially. If your evaluation is expired, then you must submit all your documents again.
