New Mexico CPA Exam Requirements
To qualify for the CPA Exam in New Mexico, you must meet the following criteria:
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (120 Semester Units) or higher, must include:
- 30 semester units in accounting-related subjects (e.g., auditing, taxation, financial reporting, and financial statement analysis).
- 3 semester units in Business Law
- These 30 hours can either be part of the degree program or completed separately
New Mexico CPA Licensure Requirements
To earn a CPA license in New Mexico, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
Education (150 Semester Units)
Work Experience:
- 12 months (approximately 2,000 hours) of general accounting experience involving services such as Accounting, Attestation, Management advisory, Financial advisory, Taxation, and Consulting skills.
- Experience must be verified by a CPA licensed in a U.S. jurisdiction during the period of attestation.
Ethics Examination:
- Pass the AICPA Professional Ethics: Comprehensive Course with a score of 90% or higher.
