List of State Nursing Boards that we often work with

California Nursing Licensing

The California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) is a state agency that oversees the practice of Registered Nurses (RNs) to ensure public safety, as outlined by the Nursing Practice Act (NPA). Meanwhile, the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT) manages the regulation and certification of Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Psychiatric Technicians.

California is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), therefore, nurses planning to work in California must apply directly to BRN or BVNPT for licensure.
