Licensure Application Requirements:

ERES Barbering and Cosmetology Evaluation (Course by Course)

Please indicate the state licensing board to which you are applying when submitting your barbering or cosmetology application.

Cosmetology Licenses:

  • Cosmetologist License: 1,200 hours of training at a Florida cosmetology school or its equivalent.
  • Nail Specialist Registration: 180 school hours.
  • Facial Specialist Registration: 220 school hours
  • Full Specialist Registration: 400 school hours (combining 180 nail hours and 220 facial hours).

Barbering Licenses:

  • Barber License: Applicants must complete at least 600 hours of training at a Florida barbering school or its equivalent and be deemed competent by a school official to sit for the barbering exam, or complete a minimum of 900 hours of training at a Florida barbering school or its equivalent.
  • Restricted Barber License: 600 educational hours of training.
