Licensure Application Requirements:

ERES Barbering and Cosmetology Evaluation.

Please indicate the state licensing board to which you are applying when submitting your barbering or cosmetology application.

Cosmetology Licenses:

  • Cosmetologist License: 1,500 clock hours of instruction.
  • Cosmetology Teacher License: 500 hours of teacher training if the applicant has 2 years of practical experience as a licensed cosmetologist within the preceding 5 years. Without this experience, 1,000 hours of teacher training are required.
  • Esthetician License: 750 clock hours of instruction
  • Nail Technician License: 350 clock hours of instruction.

Barbering Licenses:

  • Barber License: 1,500 clock hours of instruction.
  • Barber Teacher License: 500 hours of teacher training if the applicant has 2 years of practical experience as a licensed barber within the preceding 5 years. Without this experience, 1,000 hours of teacher training are required.
